Additional Benefits
Paid Time Off (PTO) for Salaried Employees
(Hourly Employees see Vacation)
The Paid Time Off (PTO) Program gives you maximum flexibility to take time off in a way that suits your needs. Each calendar year, you will earn PTO days based on your years of service.
U.S. full-time and part-time salaried employees (exempt and non-exempt) are eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO).
You can use PTO days for absences such as vacation, illness, family member’s illness, health care appointments,
school activities, holidays not observed by Kraft and other personal business. Up to five unused PTO days may be carried over to use during the first quarter of the next year.
You can use your PTO days in whole- or half-day increments for any absence. While you accrue PTO days month by month throughout the year, Kraft gives you access to your full-year PTO as of January 1.*
Your Responsibility to Manage PTO
You are responsible for managing your Paid Time Off (and any other time away from work), including:
-
Planning absences whenever possible so you meet your job responsibilities (including communicating with your manager and colleagues about your absences)
-
Informing your manager as early as possible if you have an unexpected absence and when you will return
-
Knowing how much PTO you have available and how much you have taken
-
Taking no more PTO than you are entitled to
-
Tracking carryover days.

| You may carry over up to 5 unused PTO days and use them in the first quarter of the following year. |
To make sure you have enough PTO days throughout the year, reserve some for the unexpected — whether it’s illness, injury, an emergency or even a surprise invitation/opportunity. Because PTO replaces the former Part A Short-Term Disability, you would need to use PTO to be paid for the first five workdays of a disability-related absence.
